Spyros Niavis is an Assistant Professor of Regional Economics at the Department of Planning and Regional Development at the University of Thessaly. His research interests include regional economics and development, efficiency and productivity analysis, sustainability evaluation, and policy assessment. He has published over 70 academic papers in journals, edited volumes, and conference proceedings, and has participated in 39 research projects. His research mainly focuses on Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean.
