/ENTRA Lab at the Kick-off Meeting of the Erasmus+ EcoHarmony Project

ENTRA Lab represented the University of Western Macedonia at the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ EcoHarmony project, held in Barcelona on January 29-30, 2025. Hosted by Universitat Ramon Llull, this meeting marked the beginning of a significant collaboration aiming to integrate sustainable tourism principles into higher education curricula. 

EcoHarmony focuses on embedding the Global Sustainable Tourism Framework into academic programs, aligning with the European Union’s sustainability agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project addresses critical challenges such as climate change, responsible resource management, and ethical governance in tourism, ensuring that future professionals are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to drive sustainable transformation in the industry. 

During the meeting, project partners had the opportunity to plan the next steps of the initiative, discuss innovative methodologies, and explore strategies to foster sustainability in tourism education. ENTRA Lab brought its expertise in sustainable transitions, policy innovation, and energy-conscious development, reinforcing its commitment to fostering a greener and more resilient tourism sector. 

Through this collaboration, the University of Western Macedonia and its partners aim to bridge academic excellence with real-world impact, preparing students to contribute effectively to a sustainable and inclusive future in tourism. The EcoHarmony project actively supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), demonstrating a strong commitment to fostering education-driven sustainability.
