Essential Information
The program starts in Athens on Monday, June 22 and ends in Kozani, on Saturday, July 18.
Participants should plan to arrive in Athens on Monday, June 22nd. Students will spend the first few days in Athens and will be transferred by chartered bus to Kozani.
Departure: A chartered bus will be available from Kozani to Thessaloniki Airport at 10:00 am, in the morning of Saturday, July 18.
Students are responsible for their own accommodation in Athens before and after the program.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This course involves travel. Be wary of overpacking. It will be useful to bring with you travel-size cosmetics.
Housing
While in Athens, students are housed within walking distance of the CYA Academic Center in either CYA student apartments located in the Pangrati neighborhood of central Athens or in hotel accommodations arranged by CYA. CYA apartments are simply furnished and equipped with a full kitchen and air-conditioned bedrooms; towels, linens and housekeeping service will be provided.
While in Kozani and during the trip to Grevena, students will be housed at the University of Western Macedonia’s dormitories in double occupancy, non air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom and basic kitchenette equipment. Dormitories are simply furnished; towels and linens will be provided. Dormitory buildings include common lounge spaces for all residents. During the trip to Halkidiki students will be housed in simple 2- or 3-star hotels, double- or triple-occupancy, with air-conditioned rooms.
Facilities
While in Athens, meetings will take place in CYA’s Academic Center. While in Kozani, classes will take place at the University of Western Macedonia campus. Basic WIFI is provided in the university dormitories and on campus.
Meals
While in Athens, a mid-day meal will be provided at the CYA cafeteria on weekdays. While class is in session in Kozani, a full mid-day meal will be served weekdays in the university cafeteria immediately after class. When traveling, hotel breakfast will be offered at the hotels.

The day-to-day program and itinerary of the course are subject to change. Students are advised not to make plans for their free time or weekends in advance, as class schedules and site visits may be re-scheduled depending on local conditions.
