The Lab
Established under the Department of Chemical Engineering (Government Gazette B’ 682/31.01.2024) and led by Assoc. Prof. Lefteris Topaloglou, ENTRA-Lab (Energy Transition & Development Transformation Laboratory) is a research and innovation hub dedicated to advancing the energy transition, informing the development of evidence-based policies, and fostering sustainable, place-based regional development.
Our goal is to bridge and practice,
supporting sustainable pathways for regions in transition.
Research Priorities
ENTRA Lab’s research agenda focuses on advancing knowledge and practice in the following areas:
- Just and fair transition policies for energy and regional development
- Governance models and institutional frameworks for the energy transition
- Pathways and strategies toward climate neutrality
- Place-based development and spatial energy planning
- Cross-border and transnational cooperation in energy and sustainability
- European green policy frameworks and cohesion instruments
- Monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment of transition policies and projects
- Scientific advisory services, stakeholder engagement, and policy co-creation
